![]() | Mute 0.5 --Fixed a minorGems SimpleVector compilation bug on newer versions of gcc. --Upgraded to Crypto++ v5.2.1 (patched to work with GCC 4.0). MUTE should now compile using GCC 4.0 --Changed name prefix of MUTE's special directories from MUTE_ to MUTE_INTERNAL_ --Added ROUTE_ONLY flag to certain message types (like file chunks) to ensure that they are dropped if no route for them exists. This flag prevents these message types from being used for route discovery (only small messages, like file chunk requests, should be used for route discovery). This should dramatically reduce traffic in the MUTE network. --Added download queuing support. --Fixed a bug in timeouts when requesting file chunks. --Improved download timeout behavior when responses from remote host suddenly slow down. This fix improves download rates and reduces network traffic in certain situations. --Added multi-source download capabilities. MUTE will now spread the load of a download across all available sources in the network. MUTE will also continue trying to download a file indefinitely (until it is canceled manually) by searching for more sources periodically. --Dealt with potential MWebCache security issue. Now MUTE fetches host lists from two random caches to fill its host pool before attempting to connect (at random) to hosts in the pool. MUTE 0.4.1 only fetched host lists from one cache at a time. --Added third-party tool for generating sha1 hashes. It can be downloaded from [Solo gli utenti registrati possono visualizzare tutti i links] --Added a friends feature that lets you tag certain virtual addresses and search their files specifically. This feature includes new mnemonics for all virtual addresses displayed in MUTE. --Removed an unneeded OpenGL dependency that prevented compilation on some platforms. --Fixed bug that allowed routing table entries to grow without bounds. --Fixed busy-loop bug if we fail to get any hosts from web caches. --Changed so that we skip processing message flags for stale messages that we will drop anyway. --Added RSA message signatures to thwart a possible attack involving spoofed addresses. Without signatures, attackers could send out falsely-addressed messages in a way that skews routing tables and enables them to determine the owner of a given address in some circumstances. This possible attack was discovered by Tom Chothia, who also suggested this particular fix. --Truncated display of long file names in the download list.
